Offered is an original Civil War period leather flap holster for \"Prescott\" belt revolver with 6 1.2-inch barrel as shown. Fair leather construction, with full flap having minimal crazing at the fold, and moderate wear at the closing hole. Closing finial appears to be a small, brass button with some sort of design mostly disfigured by wear - see photos. Leather is all supple, with intact seams; lacks plug at the bottom. My 7 1/2-inch \"Prescott\" fits snugly in the pouch and flap closes nicely, with about an inch of barrel sticking out the bottom. A Smith & Wesson No. 2 Army with a 6-inch barrel will fit, but a little loose. VERY nice Civil War holster that\'s not a common variety, and fits a revolver in use during the war. See photos.
