original Civil Warletterincluding the cover that belonged to Alonzo Hall Quint who was a Chaplain in the 2nd Massachusetts Regiment. This was a letter written to him. The letter is dated Buffalo N.Y. march 9, 1864. It looks like there is also a short letter written on the back. I currently haveother letters listedthat belonged to this Chaplain. Some of the writing is hard to read I translated the best I could. The letter reads:

My Dear Sir

For some considerable time I have been engaged in collecting and arranging materials for a history of ...operations of Gen Bank\'s old Corps in Virginia and Maryland; but was informed within a few days past that you are engaged upon a similar work. I write you to ascertain whether I am correctly informed or not; and in case I am correctly informed to tender you all the assistance in my power to the completions of your has wear and stain marks, the cover has you have any questions feel free to ask. Thank you for looking. Please note I list new items every week.
