Thisis an AntiqueGlassNegative for a Magic Lantern Presentation. In the years following the Civil War there were shows put on around the United States with these types ofSlides.Since this was well before Moving Picturesthe oratorswould thrill the audience with photos of Civil War scenes and personalities discussing the events of the war.

Like you I had problems viewing the slide easily, soa few years ago I had a photo made of the slide and included a scan of that photo as my first shot on my sale. It shows what the slide looks like rather well.

I have not cleaned it, so it may be a little dusty and dirty.It measures roughly 4\" by 3 1/4\".
