Great Running 1897 Seth Thomas Adamantine
This is fabulous looking strong running eight
day Thomas Adamantine hour and half hour strike mantel clock. This Seth Thomas
temple style clock (known as "black mantel" in the antique trade) and
has attractive Art Deco lion heads and bronze feet.
clock has a 6-inch dial with brass bezel and sash with original back label
dated September 7, 1880. The clock is 13 ½ inches long 11 inches
tall and 6 inches deep. With original: case, back label, dial, bezel, key, movement,
gong, bob, hardware and hands. (That is what I know).
Many Seth Thomas clocks from 1881 to 1918 have a date code stamped in ink on the bottom.
