there are only a few of these known to exist published in the USA about 1905 This one is in great condition likely the finest known example in public hands

GRADING CHART
Mint: a perfect card with perfect corners and perfect gloss Stamped cards that have been mailed can only get the high grade of nearly Mint
Nearly mint: like mint only one will need magnification to spot any defects so mint to the eye but small defects arePermitted, very light wear to surface or corners, sign of edges having been in an album NO CREASES TEARS OR DEFECTS that are clearly visible there may be writing on the back or a stamp
Excellent: A card that looks excellent has no visible creases, and only very minor defects NO markings or writing and good corners that can show only light handling This is generally considered to be collector grade card especially for RARE cards
Very good: a card that appears in very good condition small surface gloss defects are allowed unobtrusive postal bleeding is allowed, corners can be slightly soft or lightly worn With cards that have undivided backs writing may be permitted on the front as this was the only place for a message at the time. If the image is badly affected by writing it will not grade as very good there can be no visible creases, losses residue from album hinges on rear if unobtrusive is considered very good. hinge imprinting on the front surface is also allowed
Good: a card that is in good visible condition but can have defects that are visible writing on the front, postal bleeding, a soft corner or small corner crease wear to gloss or surface hinge , residue on reverse and toning or fading is accepted as long as there are no stains, tears, large creases or paper losses, the card can grade as good
Fair: cards can have creases and or small tears surface defects writing and minor discoloration or staining even an edge loss is accepted I generally cull this kind of card out and place it in large group lots however with extremely Rare subject matter or Scarce Cards I may still use this as an individual grading
Poor Poor is poor and the lowest possible grading I place any cards considered poor in group lots no matter how scarce the card may be I feel that poor cards are not of collector quality
I often use two grades to show a card I feel is in between grades especially very good/ excellent as one minor flaw can keep it from excellent if I think the overall card is nicer than very good I will use the slash to show both grades

I use a camera to shoot cards I do not use a scanner as color is generally best in NATURAL LIGHTING I only photograph backs of cards if I feel that the postmark or back is of significant value to the card
