Harold Cromwell ....Folk Art Genius of Weymouth - Nova Scotia . Harold started drawing while he was wounded in 1943 in WW2 and spent a few months at a Army Hospital recovering . Harold worked as a Commissionaire and in Ontario where he was a Miner for 5 years . He was able to draw some while he worked full time but when he retired his work took off as Collectors stood in line at The Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival to buy his Drawings . \\woods states no one knows the full breath of Cromwells work and Private Collectors who eagerly built Collections .He has never had a Retrospective show ,the Greatness of his achievement has never been fully recognized .You cant get a sense of what hes done without seeing it all in one place .Its the difference between a singer doing a concert or just one song . These have been growing in value for years .Aprox 10 years ago a Gallery in New York who was representing him was selling an 8 by 10 drawing for $1,500 . This one is aprox 10 1/4 by 12 1/4 inches . The majority of Cromwells work is in Black N White ,but in the early years he experimented with colour on 7-8 drawings ,making this one an extreme rarity .
