This listing is for an Rare Very Large Collector Antique Nomad Jaff Kurd Rug Cargo Bag / Mafrash / Rug / Carpet / bag face / bagface , Camel / Donkey bag face.Size of 42 1/4 by 36 inches, is very unusual for Jaff Kurd Bag Faces.The brocade / mixed technique, kilim & cicim weave, skirts, at ends, is still in place for the most part.A tribal weaving, it was woven for personal use by Kurd / Kurdish / People from Jaff tribe for personal use.Brilliant Vegetable DyesWool foundation ( warp and weft ) and wool pile, all hand spun wool, all dyes in small lots as the weaver continued weaving the rug in different locations.The designs employed in this class of bag face is really a mystery as even though it might seem like a geometrical design , it carries colors in specific patterns , no two of which are the same , which makes one wonder if there is a specific code identifying a specific person / group . They are very pleasing and very entertaining .\'In excellent antique condition, with little black/brown oxidation , sporadic old repairs to salvage.Worthy of a Museum. Full of Life.It has been recently soak washed by a textile conservator and it is lustrous and shinny clean.Antique oriental rugs of this origin and age are sought after by carpet collectors and are hard to find in this condition.I usually post many more images on my listing than the 12 listed on gallery which only will be visible to individuals on classic site ( that would be when item is viewed on a computer) .
