This is a solid wood model of a Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina Flying Boat. The model displayes great and the colors and markings are clear and bright. The PBY comes in pre to early WW2 markings and stands on a nice wooden base with clear gold lettering. This plane was purchased by me about 20 years ago for my Dad, he was a flight engineer on a PBY during WW2, I purchased it from Allied Trains in Los Angeles, the sticker is on the bottom of the base. The only issues the model has is a painting flaw and some spots that are in the paint, I tried to show them, they actually do not take away from the aircraft as a display. The only battle damage the Catalina has is a small chip on the leading edge of the left stabalizer ( I hope I named the aircraft part correctly ) thanks to the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. The model has no repaires or other damage, the paint is good and the base is not damaged, overall a very nice piece. The wingspan is 17 1/2 inches, the fusalage is 11 inches, and as she sits on the wooden stand the PBY stands 8 1/2 inches tall. S&H will be $13.00 to the lower 48, the others and Canada will be more.
