Click to View Image Album We\'re not sure if this Wonderful piece of American Brilliant Period Cut Glass is a Biscuit or Cracker Jar or an Antique Humidor.
It has a Lovely Shape and the Shade of Cranberry is a Rich Warm Deep Pink and Cut to Clear Glass with Vertical Cuts all the way Around and Zipper Cuts in between each Vertical Cut. There are Nine 1-3/8\" Round, Clear, Fish Eye Lenses that allow you to see the inside of the Jar with a Panoramic view. It has a Starburst Cut Glass Pattern on the Bottom.
This Antique Cut Glass Cranberry Jar has a Solid Sterling Embossed Top that is Embossed with Roses, Scrolls Leaves and other small Blossoms. The 1-3/4\" Finial appears to us to be an Acanthus Leaf with Buds in the middle. The top is marked with a #, \"STERLING\", a Four Leaf Clover and an \"L\" or Pound mark ending with the numbers 11. In our Photos you can see that a trace of its Original Gold Wash remains on the inside of the Cover.
This Cranberry Jar measures approximately 9\" Tall to the top of the Finial on the Lid. The Glass Jar alone measures 6\" Tall with an opening of 3-1/16\" Diameter. The Foot measures 4-1/2\" in diameter.
Overall the Condition on this Antique Cut Glass Jar is Excellent. It has No chips, cracks, bumps or scratches. The Sterling Embossed Lid has two Tiny, 1/8\" dents in one side on the Lower portion of the Bulbous hip of the Cover. Please view our last Photo in this Listing for a close-up Photo of this Area.
