Egyptian Revival Gorham Silver Plate
This Fine Gorham Egyptian Revival Silver Soldered Trophy was won on September 30, 1875 by H.S. Jewell at the Creedmoor Rifle Range in New York.
Colonel H.S. Jewell was a prominent member of the Creedmoor RifleRangeand the subject of manynewspaperand magazine articles, including his winning of this very trophy.
The Creedmoor Rifle Range was the beginning of the National Rifle Association NRA
This trophy was manufactured by Gorham in the Classical Egyptian Revival Style and features two detailed pharaoh masks, and two stylized papyrus handles
The Trophy is 11 inches wide. The lip of its bowl is 5 inches high, and the handles reach 7 inches

This 139 year old trophy isoriginal and unrestored. It isin near perfect condition; there is a very small vertical dent in the middle of the side engraved: Mid Range Match. As can be seen in the photographs it is hardly noticeable
