For consideration is this vintage rag doll,straw doll or scarecrow doll manufactured by Crown Trifari and designed byAlfred Philippe in sterling silver with a gold wash in 1943. She has a bluejelly belly cab face and clear rhinestones on the bodice. All stones areoriginal and none are missing. This “Nanette” was a symbol of good luck andpatriotism in its heyday. She measures 1¾ inches tall and 1¼ inches wide. Thisis marked on the back on the bottom right of the skirt with a crown symbolfollowed by “Trifari”, on the left arm it reads “Sterling” and down the centerof the brooch back it reads “Patent No. 136079”. The brooch pin is straight andit closes with a working locking roll over “C” clasp. This beauty has not beencleaned and the patina is natural.
