This is probably a European made crucifix.
It is called the \"Skull-and-Crossbones\" crucifix because of the skull at the feet of Jesus.
Jesus is said to have been crucified on a hill called \"The place of Golgoth,\" which translates as \"place of the skulls.\"
This 3\" high and 1.5\" wide pectoral cross is made of what we believe is pewter andmahogany.
The wood, as in many of these inlaidcrucifixes, is cracked in places; these cracks are difficult to see and do not harm the appearance of the cross.
This is a handsome piece.
