DESCRIPTIONThis busy harbor port shows a cupid playing the mandolin as a large ship enters the port from behind. Little cupids float in front in a sail boat and a ferry amid the red honeycomb puffy poofs.
To stand upright, the front panel pulls forward and down to reveal the six (6) layers multi-dimensional effect.
The card is marked Germany on the back side at the right corner.

CONDITIONOverall, fair condition. The card is tight when opened and closed and does not need support to stand independently. Missing tips to the masts and tops of ropes and repairs to the back side. See photos for best review and evaluation. GREAT colors.

We have been collecting large, Victorian era, 3-dimensional, German, die-cut Valentines for over 40 years. Our private collection of more than 300 fold out cards include mechanical cards that pop-up to display airplanes, cars, trains, ships, and children and/or animals in various scenes with Cupid. Some of the cards were acquired from the private collection of Evalene Pulati, founder of theNational Valentine Collectors Association.
We have NEVER purchased reproductions or cards that were \"harvested\" from vintage scrap books. The backside of each card is original and without glue damage. Most bends or tears to a card have been meticulously restored with age appropriate paper to help minimize depreciation of value. ALL cards have been stored on acid free foam core in a climate controlled Environment, and will be shipped to the new buyer with the acid free mount.
