Bronzed Cast Iron Bookends
This erotic pair of bronze clad, 1920\'s era, cast iron bookends beautifully depict a nude woman dancer, back arched, one knee raised up, as she trails a long scarf off her shoulders, swirling down about her feet. With only the number \'200-1\' on their backs, neither bookend bares any identifying marks, so it is impossible to specify the exact origin or precise era of manufacture. Yet these classic nudes are tastefully clearly portray an Art Deco style in their warm bronzed patina, making these nude figures completely suitable for your own home, or office library.
The bookends themselves measure approximately 6.5\" tall, by 5\" wide, and 2.75\" deep. These rather heavy casts are poured iron, and both bookends lack any felt pads on their bases. With most of the bronze electroplating still intact on the female figures, also having large areas where cladding has been rubbed or worn away entirely, specifically along the edges and about the base area. Generally showing only light wear from dents or dings, but still with a wonderfully aged patina that would add style to any shelf upon which they rested. Overall a really nice pair, and generally in fair to good condition.
