Fantastic \'floating UFO\' Dazor lamp

The Dazor \'flying saucer\' lamps have such a powerful atomic age presence. The design is so simple, stylish and utterly timeless.

This particular model often had \'starring\' roles on executive desks and in professional offices on Perry Mason, Bachelor Father, and The Twilight Zone to name a few.

The lamp represented a contemporary vision of the \'space age\' future. It\'s somewhat awkward cantilevered cousin famously showed up in 1982\'s Blade Runner, and more

recently on Pete Campbell\'s desk in Mad Men.

Clearly, the design fit the bill for a Hollywood prop that speaks to a distinct vision of the future.

This model in a metallic \'chocolate brown\' or bronze paint, with the curved arm enabling the \'UFO\' to float.

Condition:

Very minor scuffs and shows age appropriate usage. Most surviving Dazors suffered with dents on the shade........this is free of any dents, or \'stress dimples\' usually associated

with the lamp head being forced down.

Some superficial paint loss at edge of shade...a couple of minor scratches. A small area of yellowing on thefiberglass.

A striking and increasingly rare beauty.

As a mid century lamp lover, collector and seller, my philosophy is simple and two pronged;1) RARITY AND BEAUTY
One can easily buy a great $1000 contemporary lamp from Holly Hunt or Circa lighting, or Flos (to name a few) but the lamps I sell
will never be produced again and I appreciate their rarity.
2) HONESTY
I never sell \"Frankenstein\" lamps (odd pieces slapped together, slathered in new paint (oddly enough usually fire engine red) and passed off as having an exotic (usually Italian, or Gino Sarfatti ) origin.
Buyer beware, I say!
This will ship either FedX home or UPS for safety. If any shipping cost is less it will be refunded without question.
