The D&RG built 100 of these cars in 1887, numbering them from 6000 to 6099. They were of standard construction for that era, and were 30 feet long with a capacity of 20 tons. As heavier and more modern cars were developed, these cars were sold off, scrapped or converted to work train cars. The last 16 of them in regular service were sold to the U.S. Navy in 1942. When the cars were converted to work service they retained their original number with a \"0\" added to the beginning of the number to signify work service. These kits consist of precut basswood frame, siding and roof with styrene, brass or white metal detail parts including full brake gear, decals by Thinfilm and complete plans, templates, and step-by-step instructions.
