A boxed collector set of McDonald’s happy meal toys from the great 1989 animated Disney movie, “The Little Mermaid”. This was a special edition set of happy meal toys sold in December 1997. The set includes a certificate of authenticity from McDonald’s.
The set includes eight pieces, all gold colored, and each fitting in their own individual spot in the box:
·Ariel, kneeling on her fin and hugging a sea horse close to her body;
·Prince Eric, sitting in a row boat with an oar in his hands; the rowboat moves on three wheels in its base;
·Flounder, who also moves on a single wheel underneath him;
·Sebastian, who has a wind-up mechanism in his back that makes him move sideways when stood up, like the crab that he is;
·Scuttle, who has a wind-up mechanism in his side that makes his legs flutter back and forth very fast;
·Max, Eric’s sheepdog, whose arms rotate around as if he were swimming;
·the mean shark that threatens to eat Ariel and Flounder when they explore the shipwreck at the bottom of the sea; he moves on a single wheel underneath him;
·Ursula the sea witch, who is inflatable and sits within a ring formed by her two evil eel henchmen, Flotsam and Jetsam.
The figures are all between 2.5 and 4 inches in length or height.
The set is brand new in its original McDonald’s box and has never been used since it was purchased. The box itself also is in excellent condition, showing only minor signs of shelf wear.
