Thisdivine solid sterling silver and Baccarat crystal dresser box was made in Francecirca 1880. The charming lid is decorated with an etched engraved gallantscene, a young man offering a bunch of flowers to a young maiden, attractivelandscape…beautiful castle and garden surrounded by garlands of flowers. The hinged lid fits into a silver festoonexquisitely engraved with flowers and leaves. Fine gold gilding ‘Vermeil’ interior. It is fully hallmarked ‘MinervaHead 1’ for950/1000 silver purer than Sterling silver and lozenge with silversmith’s mark‘T (heart with dagger) A’ (for Albert Emile Touchard). The cut crystal base isdecorated with swirling designs. It measures almost 1 ¾” high by full 3 3/8” acrossto the widest point at the crystal body and 2 9/16” in diameter to the lid, weight 7.08 oz or 200.8 grams.
