Offered here is an outstanding \"Dwight D. Eisenhower, \'I like Ike\' Presidential Election Campaign Button\"

A lovely and patriotic campaign button, it measures 7/8 inch in diameter, and has a red, white and blue face, with \"I LIKE IKE\" written boldly across the center.  There are no brand or identification marks on the back of the button.  Like most of the buttons from this era, they are made from tin, with iron pins.  On either side, on the rim of the button, there is a Maker\'s Mark, but it is so small that it is unreadable.

This unique  Presidential Campaign pin is in excellent condition - crisp and clean with no staining, foxing, or crazing. The back is a bit tarnished.  Please see the photos above and below.

Dwight D. Eisenhower served as 34th president of the United States from January 20, 1953 until January 20, 1961.  During his lifetime he played a key role in important events of the era. Dwight D Eisenhower was instrumental in the closing stages of the Korean War which ended in 1953. In 1954 the Brown v. Board of Education legal dispute resulted in the US Supreme Court declaring that separate public schools, for black and white students, was unconstitutional. In 1957 Eisenhower ordered Federal troops to Little Rock to enforce integration. As the Cold War continued a speech referred to as the Eisenhower Doctrine was made in 1957 to limit communist expansion.
