Daguerreotype Tin Type of Gentleman in Suit - w/ Case - Possible Post Mortem:

For sale is a daguerreotype photograph of a gentleman in a suit. The picture itself measures 2 1/2\" x 2\". The leather case that it is in measures 2 1/2\" x 3\". The case is leather and it has a pattern in soft fabric on the opposite side of the portrait. There is a small hook and eye on one side of the case. This may be a post mortem picture but I\'m not 100% sure if it is or isn\'t. A blue tie has been added - it looks like it may be reverse painted on the glass. The binding between the covers is missing. There is also debris in the corners of the photograph which appears to be dust. There is wear to the covers as well. Please see pictures for close ups.
