The maki-e is doneusing traditional method. This is not silkscreened. The pen is Japanese traditional eyedropper filler and an eyedropper is included. The pen will come with box and papers. Only 18 pens were made and this one is #9 of 18. the pen is signed by the artist. The artist of the pen is Mr. Koichiro Okazaki.
Danitrio has been making very high end maki-e pens. They are of very high quality and are very popular among high end pen user and collectors. Their pens are usually made in very limited quantities. The theme of the maki-e is verytraditional. Here we see two beautiful ladies in elaborate kimono admiring the cherry blossom. The pen is simply exquisitely executed in a traditional manner. If you look closely,raden shells, mother of pearls were used for flower petals. This is simply one of the most incredible maki-e work I have seen.
