David Yurman designs are ever changing.Just because you have many pieces from various years past, it does not meancurrent designs will be exactly the same. There are many differences inthe same product from year to year.
1. David Yurman designs change from year toyear not only in style but in the following:
A. Hallmarks... how and where they are placed change all the timeon old and new designs
B. Weight of the pieces. Recently the 5mm, 7mm and 10mm braceletshave become lighter. If you have an older piece, it will probably beheavier
C. Yurman is using bonded gold on many items instead of solid gold.Such is the case of a watch I recently purchased, on for myself.
D. Yurman makes different designs for different stores like Saks, NeimanMarcus, and his own boutiques.
E. All stones vary in color and sometimes cut depending when it wasmade and who it was made for ( such as Saks)
F.Color of gold, shine, and presentation varies depending where and when item wasmade.
2. Many stores will tell you an item is notauthentic when you say you purchased elsewhere, as they want yourbusinessand are on commission. Naturally they want you to buy from them.
A. They are notabreast of changes in Yurman designs
B. They want to discourage buying non-retail
C.Many sales people are not really trained in all the designs, marking andchanges with Yurman designs. Plus they might just have been transferredfrom another department to Fine Jewelry and really do not know the design pastof Yurman items.
Always make sure to buy from a long term selleron . Read the listing carefully to know what the seller\'spolicies are about returns, restock fees and such. Check the responsecarefully...Just because a seller has a couple of negatives, does notmean they are selling poor items... Contact the seller!
