Day of the Dead Traditional Skull (Calavera del Día de Muertos):

This wonderful piece* of a traditional Skull of the Day of the Dead comes straight from central Mexico to your hands. Showing a crucial bit of our religious history regarding the annually celebrated tradition of the Day of the Dead, it is delightfully hand crafted in wood to show its magnificence, it also has what we know as Milagros, the little metal pieces attached to the carving, showing the miracles we were blessed with in our life =).The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. The celebration takes place on October 31, November 1 and November 2. Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars called ofrendas honoring the deceased using skulls and other handcrafted items and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts. They also leave possessions of the deceased.
