Decoeyes Mannequin Head/Bust Vintage 1940’s Style Store Hat Display Emma:
$395.00

My mannequin heads were made by Decoeyes (Jerry & Susie) in the U.S.A. Unfortunately, Jerry has passed away (which makes his exquisite heads no longer available) and I am now in the position that I must sell my collection. Since Jerry’s mannequin heads were so well made, I found them to be completely addictive and I have a lot of them. I will be listing them whenever I can, but this will take time. I used them mainly for photography and many are like new but others have sustained some “bumps and bruises”, which I will describe to the best of my ability and include in the pictures. These were made of some sort of resin and are nearly unbreakable. Jerry changed his formula from time to time, so I am not sure which ones I have. There were ones that were cast in what he called “Waxi-Cast” and I believe I can point those out, as they have a darker complexion than the rest. They were all cast from original mannequin heads of the periodand all work was done by hand, including painting and casting. I actually have the same one that is old and one that is new (Ivy), and I treasure them both as you can really see how he made his mannequins so very well. The first one I am offering is Emma, a 1940’s style beauty with an attitude! She stands approximately 14 ½” tall and has a forehead circumference of approximately 19 ½”. She is in excellent, almost like new, condition and will do a wonderful job of displaying your vintage hats. The only thing I can find is a tiny bit of shelf wear on the bottom—nothing at all to be concerned about but I thought I should mention it and her hair may be a bit discolored, as it looks somewhat yellow to me. She also has tiny holes in her earlobes for displaying post earrings--I\'m not sure these will work for your earrings, as they are very small. She has white/yellow--I think it was originally just plain white--hair, hand painted brown eyes, and fantastic make-up. Please look at the pictures, as they are part of the description. She is marked one the bottom: Decoeyes, 4-12-4 (I believe that stands for the date April 12, 2004, as that is approximately the time I was purchasing these mannequin heads), and Emma followed by the number 23. The back has a number 53, which I am sure is part of the original mold. The following was one of Decoeyes’ favorite quotes (and I can see why):\"There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man\'s lawful prey!\" John Ruskin (1819-1900). Jerry\'s mannequin heads were always expensive and I have a fortune invested in this collection. Decoeyes mannequins are the ONLY ones I know of that are EXACT reproductions of vintage ones. It\'s nice to have one of the old ones but they invariably have chips, cracks, have been repainted (sometimes very crudely), and who knows what? And most are made of plaster, which isn\'t nearly as durable as the resin that was used by Decoeyes. I’m sure you will love this mannequin head, as I did for so many years!
