Description

This vintage Degenhart figurine or paperweightfeatures an owl perched on top of two books. It has an impressed Degenhart \"D\" mark on the bottom.

I am unsure of the color name (see below). It is a light blue or powder bluemilk glass (opaque, not transparent), which shows areas of light opalescence. There are also tiny black flecks in the glass mix, which you must look closely to see.

An expert at the West Virginia Museum of American Glass said, based on my photographs, the color name was most likely one of the following: Blue Milk Opal, Wonder Blue, or Chad\'s Little Boy Blue.

It measures 3.5\" high, and 2.75\" by 2.5\" at the bottom of the base. It weighs nearly 6 ounces.

There is a tiny rough spot or flake at the mold seam on the back side ofthe owl\'s right \"ear\" tip. You canfeel the flaw with your fingertip before you would notice it. Otherwise,the piece is ingoodcondition - no large chips, cracks, heavy scratches, or repairs. The glass still appears smooth, shiny, and presentable overall.
