THERE ARE (4) PIECES OF CORRESPONDENCE CONCERNING THIS DEATH CLAIM.1st ... From the Department of the Interior, pension office, Washington D. C. , May 3, 1870 signed in print by H. VanAernaw, Commissioner.This printed and manuscript circular, explained that the claim was incomplete the following respect, viz.:

\"I received your letter in cll No. 185.196 Rebecca Gilligan Guardian Claimant for pension.About March 18th 1870 I sent her certificate to the Pension pay agent W. H. Lawrence at New City. He paid the arrears due on it, and retained it.
Please inform me what proof of marriage is required.
