For the first time in the history of The Walt Disney Company, a special cel has been created exclusively for sale for Disney Team Members. The offering of the serigraph cel and accompanying background is part of a corporation fund-raising effort to support California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), an art institute founded in 1961 through the vision and financial support of Walt Disney.
The cel set-up features the five major Disney Character--Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Dick, Goofy and Pluto. The original artwork for the cel and background was specially created by Disney Animation in Florida.
This open edition of serigraph cels was produced by Moross Studio Originals, Inc, of Gardena, Calif., which used a silk-screen print process to reproduce the 24 colors used for the character images. The background scene was printed on premium-quality paper by Color Service, Inc., of Monterey Park, Calif.
The artwork reproduced in this edition of serigraph cels has also been published in an open edition of hand painted cels.
