For over 25 years John Wind has uplifted his customers by designing jewelry, helping them look good and feel good. His work tells stories inspired by a passion for travel, art, fashion, and style, along with a love for the symbolism and history of vintage jewelry.

In the late 90’s, John Wind (JW) was approached by Natalie Nelson, the buyer for the Walt Disney Gallery Stores, about designing custom jewelry for their retail division.

The stores were largely geared to adult collectors and fans, so we were encouraged to be dramatic (you don’t have to ask me twice!) and make ‘red-carpet’ statement pieces as well as simpler pieces - this is one of these statement pieces!

MATERIALS:
John Wind uses a variety of materials. A few key ingredients are: charms are made of brass or pewter, chains are steel or aluminum, Austrian crystal, vintage glass, pearls, lacquered cotton balls, rhinestones and resin. We use different plating finishes including sterling silver and
24K gold.VARIATIONS IN METAL PLATING:
All of John Wind\'s metal parts are plated with 24kt gold or sterling silver. They are finished with a variety of materials to increase durability~ including e-coat, lacquer, and hand antique. The original parts, however, come from many places and from tools that have been in use for decades. Given that, a range of finishes (brightness, darkness, etc.) is to be expected, and in fact is part of what makes JW/MA unique!
