Exclusive to the Disney Theme Park Merchandising and in honour of the first anniversary of Cars Land at Disney\'s California Adventure, Mattel has released these characters as we\'ve never seen them before: sepia-toned! These are the Real McCoy.

Introducing RADIATOR SPRINGS BEGINNINGSfrom the Cars TOONanimated shortMater\'s Tall Talesepisode TIME TRAVEL MATER. In this new episode, TIME TRAVEL MATER travels back to a time before Radiator Springs was on the map. He meets STANLEY as he\'s passing through on his way to California to sell radiator caps. Mater soon realizes that if STANLEY, the town founder, doesn\'t stick around there will be no Radiator Springs in the future so he enlists the help of his old pal, LIGHTNING MCQUEEN to help him convince STANLEY and his fancy CAP-O-MATIC display to stay.

Made by Mattel in 2013. New, in package but the package is not pristine with details to follow.Gift pack containes three(3) characters and STANLEY\'S CAP-O-MATIC, a moulded-plastic display of rad caps. The characters are 1:55 scale diecast. The package is in fair condition with moderate wear and creases on the clear, plastic portions that allow viewing from the front, top and both sides as a result of a tumble that bent the bottom right corner inwards. This bent right-hand corner is visible from the front, top, side and bottom. It even managed to slightly bend the cardboard platform inside the box but,unquestionably, the vehicles and accessory are not affected. They are fine.

It is otherwise a nicely produced box: the cardboard landscape features at the back arethree-dimensional rustically speaking. With this particular item, however, you have to consider the bent right-hand bottom edge and corners at top and bottom. I\'m not going out on a limb here to say this package is not a keeper. This item is best for someone whointends to open it up andrelease these gentlemen from their plastic prison.

Inside the package,RADIATOR SPRINGS BEGINNINGS LIGHTNING MCQUEEN (WITH OPEN HOOD) and TIME TRAVEL MATER and CAP-O-MATIC STANLEY are really very nice diecasts. As previously mentioned, they are all sepia-toned. While it doesn\'t photograph as the most amazing scene ever, they do look a lot nicer in reality than in the pictures.LIGHTNING MCQUEEN (WITH OPEN HOOD) has a shimmery paint job and, when the plastic insert propping his hood open is removed, you can see the inner details of his engine. TIME TRAVEL MATER has a mean-looking scowl but a really crisp-looking time-piece where his hood would be. (It\'s perpetually ten past five, by the way.) CAP-O-MATIC STANLEY andSTANLEY\'S CAP-O-MATIC display are no lessimpressive. Here is where you\'ll find the only other non-statue Stanley (aside from the Wedding Daypack with Lizzie, released at the same time) and in this gift pack, he comes with accessories: whileSTANLEY\'S CAP-O-MATIC is made of plastic, it is nicely detailed with its miniature poster backing and metallic-painted rad caps feature. All three characters are in good condition: I see no obviousflawswith any of them.Please examine the photos supplied for more detail. As this is a single-quantity item listing, the ones provided have been taken of the actual item for purchase and none other. The final thing I have to mention is thatI have removed the price tag from the bottom of this gift pack since the photographs were taken. (If you were planning to give it as a gift, you can do so without worry.)
