Dobro Vintage Round Neck Resonator Guitar:
$950.00

This is the real deal. A 1934 Dobro Model 37 (serial #6144) built at the original California plant, not Regal in Chicago. It is in very good condition for its vintage with one surface scratch on the sunburst top and a few minor dings on the top and back. Both the body and 12 fret round neck are bound mahogany. Tone is excellent with medium-action setup for fretted playing. Instrument is original except for the tailpiece and a Fishman active spider bridge pickup system. The neck has been reset and re-fretted at the Dobro OMI factory in the 1970s by John Paul Quarterman who signed the internal neck support (see photo.) A phone call to Mr. Quarterman on 2/27/17 confirms that he did work on and then sign this instrument in 1972. He was aged 27 when he began working for Dobro OMI in 1970 and was eventually promoted to factory/shop manager until departing in 1975. Quarterman spun cones are well renowned in the resonator guitar world. A new padded, hard shell Road Runner case is included.
