Beautiful Art Nouveau period heavy Sterling silver over glass trivet made by Dominick & Haff. This piece is 6 \" in diamter, has an elegant scroll overlay decoration and has an intriguing inscription in the center. This is engraved to read \"FROM A SHANTEE TO AN EARLDOM 1908\". Wish I knew more about the original owner. Marked on the rim with STERLING the D&H trademark with no date indicated, the piece number 22 and 6 in. There are dings to the Sterling but I find no breaks. I gave this a fast wipe-up so you could see details but it still could use a thorough polish.
