Individual daguerreotypes in guttapercha thermoplastic case identified with taped note on back of case: “Uncle Henry Cook born July 12, 1824 and Aunt Clarissa (Flint) Cook who graduated from Pembroke Academy & taught in Campton, N.H. She was grandma Blodgett’s ideal of a teacher.(See her napkin hemmed in 1857,also her diploma from Pembroke.”

Henry Cook, son of Edmund andClarissa Mitchell Cook, was a private in Co. B, 15th NH Vol.Infantry. He died in Buffalo, NY, onAugust 11th, 1863. WonderfulUnion brass mat with Flags, eagles, canons and drums.

Clarissa Stickney Flint Cook, daughterof Amos and Mary Stickney Flint, was born in Hillsborough, NH, on January 31st,1832 and died in Campton, NH, on July 17th, 1858.

Size of case: 2 9/16 inches (long) x 4 1/4 inches (tall)3/4 of an inch (deep).

Provenance: From a small collection of photos purchased atantiques shop, including two daguerreotypes of Henry Cook\'s sister, Angeline Cook Blodgett.
