Such an elegant lady wore this cream colored boned bodice! I just love the gorgeous intricate lace at the neckline and sleeves, my, the work that went into this lovely piece of history! The needlework design is called Soutache trim and it\'s all hand stitched in place. It fastens with hook and eye closures at the neck and down the front side. The inside of the bodice is lined with an inner layer which fastens down the center with hook and eye closures. The fabric is a heavy weight cotton . The front center has a tassel which is lovely. There\'s a lot of eye candy here if you\'re a seamstress. As I said, the hours of work that went into this!!
There\'s a small hole in the right top shoulder area of the sleeve, on front and back. There\'s another small hole under the bodice front draped area. A few tiny holes on the right front side of the bodice. On the front center tassel, one has a slight brown stain. There are a few pinholes in the back shoulder area. A small wear spot on the left side top of the arm and shoulder area. The back has 2 wear spots at the back waist. The inner panel has a hole on the bottom section. See all 12 photos for details. I acquired it from the estate this way. I try to describe as accurately as possible.
