Dug Michigan Civil War State Seal staff coat button. The front has great gold and detail. The reverse has a small depressed, c.1860, SCOVILL MF\'G CO. WATERBURY, between two rings of dots, backmark. The shank is straight. This button was dug with the front and back separated. They have been glued back together and some of the rim edge is missing. This button measures 22 mm\'s in diameter. It is a tough Northern state button to dig and it displays well. It was recovered in Richmond, Va. on private property with permission. The pictures are accurate as to its condition.
