To showcase its superlative art of lacquering and to re-create a long-forgotten technique know only to the true master craftsmen, S.T. Dupont established itself as a leader in lacquered pens by introducing the Chairman series in early 1990\'s. The base models were of the Montparnasse collection pens. This collection was an instant success and sold out shortly. The series went out of production by the end of 1994.
