This very attractive vintage (early 1900s) item is a 25-year membership lapel pinfrom the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, an organization that was founded in 1885. Such items are very hard to find (if not rare). The design includes the full name of the group and the dates of the Civil War positioned around the monogram of the group (intertwined DUV), along with the words 25 YRS MEMBERSHIP. The reverse has the mark of the manufacturer (Augustus C. Frank Co., Philadelphia), the words GOLD FILLED, and a hinged attachment pin with locking catch (jeweler\'s clasp). This item measures approximately 13 x 19 mm (1/2 x 3/4\").

This item is in extremely fine condition, with no evident wear or damage, with very light signs of handling. This lapel pin has a nice light gold color and remains bright.
