EARLY 1900s WORCESTER SALT GOOD LUCK GILT BRASS TOKEN COIN, LARGE SWASTIKA - W&H:
$18.99

This great pictorial token (or coin) dating to the 1920s or early 1930s advertised Worcester salt and also served as a good luck coin. The front of this item has a detailed, three-dimensional image of a bag of Worcester salt, with the wording on the bag extremely legible (including the name of the company and its city - New York). Along the rim are the words WORCESTER SALT and THE STANDARD FOR QUALITY. The reverse side has a very large swastika that has smaller good luck symbols (horseshoe, four-leaf clover, wishbone, and runic characters) between its arms. [Swastikas commonly were considered to be good luck symbols prior to its use as a symbol by the Nazis in the early 1930s.] This side also has the words GOOD LUCK beneath the swastika and MEMBERSHIP EMBLEM OF THE DONT WORRY CLUB along the rim. The name of the manufacturer (Whitehead & Hoag) is found at the bottom rim This item measures approximately 32 mm (1-1/4\") in diameter and appears to be composed of brass with a bright gold surface treatment (much of which remains). This token was very well-struck with very bold, detailed design and lettering. This token is great condition for its age. There are light scratches on both sides but no deep scratches whatsoever. This sides of this coin are in great condition, very minimal discoloration. Please reference photos for detail as that is the best way to judge condition for yourself.
