EARLY AMERICAN FLINT BLOWN & ENGRAVED CELERY VASE - CIRCA 1850:
$472.66

This is a beautiful blown and engraved flint glass celery vase made in the USA during the mid 19th century circa 1850. The glass rings like a church bell when tapped. The vase is 8-3/8 inches tall and 4-3/4 inches in diameter at the flared rim. The hand formed foot is 4 inches in diameter and also has the broken pontil mark. The stem is also hand formed and attached to both the foot and the bowl. The ribbing around the base of the bowl is hand articulated shown in the unevenness. Hand engraved with flowers, leaves, fern and jewels. There is one very tiny nick on the rim of the vase. There is also some staining on one side near the rim that covers a 2 inch by 2 inch area. There may be some bubbles and straw marks but there are no other chips, flakes or cracks. Shipping includes insurance. (DRT-5-11-A-XX21)
