Early Miriam Haskell Seashell Brooch1930\'s eraWhimsical pin from the period when the Haskell pieces were not signedIncluded are photos of a similar shell brooch from the book \"Miriam Haskell Jewelry\"
by Cathy Gordon and Sheila Pamfiloff (page70). Being a collector of seashell jewelry I found this pin especially fun. Designed in the shape of a huge flower blossom the big shells depict flower petals. A variety of art glass beads are hand wired into the center of the (shell) flower. These shells are tinted a very light aqua blue color, beautiful and softly iridescent. The center beads are vibrant and colorful in red, shades of blue, green, yellow and orange.
All of these elements are hand wired onto a pierced silver plated metal inner plate and then covered over and finished with a solid silver plated metal plate. These pieces are so unique, Some of my favorite Haskell pieces show her use
of natural things such as these shells in her designs.Very good vintage condition
