EARLY Vintage Pre Civil War CHINTZ Birds in Flight Antique Quilt ~DATED 1837!

This AMAZING cotton birds in flight/triangles quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with a wonderful chintz border and the following provenance included on a piece of fabric with the quilt: \"Donald Bogert\'s great, great, great, great grandmother Catherine Heru__ about 1837.\"

The quilt measures 76\" X 102\" and is in good condition, with the occasional age stain, surface dirt, the beginnings of wear at the edges in places, and one small hole in a white piece (about 1/2\" in diameter) that doesn\'t go through to the back.

There is quilting around the piecework and in straight line and grid designs in the background, all at 7-8 stitches to the inch.

The back is off-white, there is a knife edge (back and front stitched right together), and the batting is thin.

RARELY do you find American quilts this EARLY, especially with included provenance!
