Edgar Church was the original owner of the world famous MILE HIGH comic book collection. He amassed over 20,000 golden age books from 1937 through about 1954, for the purpose of using the images for his art career. Nearly all of his ideas came from the comic books, which he carefully stacked in the basement of his home in Colorado - He was obsessive in buying comic books but rarely read them, focusing instead on the cover art. Consequently his collection of books was found to be in average NM condition when discovered by a young Chuck Rozanski a decade after Mr. Church passed - Edgar Church is famous today for his historic comic book collection but was a top notch artist and illustrator during his career, with a stunning array of published artwork to his credit.
