Well, here it is: Thefirst Rock\'n\'Roll/Rockabilly album ever released (well, OK, alright, JohnnyBurnette R&R trio and Bill Haley’s Rock Around the Clock may have precededthis one by a few weeks, but it is the moot point; thefact of the matter is that this is the single most important Rock album inhistory – truly a foundation of virtually EVERYTHING we are listening today). We present it here on ORIGINAL black RCA label in GLORIOUS MONO!!!. Most of thematerial presented here comes from Elvis\' seminal "Sun" sessions, andonly a few new RCA recordings have been added. Track listing: Blue suede shoes- I am counting on you - I got a woman - One-sided love affair - I love youbecause - Just because - Tutti frutti - Trying to get to you - I\'m gonna sitright down and cry over you - I\'ll never let you go - Blue moon - Money Honey.

Today it all seems soeasy — RCA signs up the kid from Memphis, television gets interested at aroundthe same time, and the rest is history. The circumstances surrounding thisalbum were neither simple nor promising, however, nor was there anything in thehistory of popular music up to that time to hint that Elvis Presley was goingto be anything other than "Steve Sholes\'folly," which was what rival executives were already whispering. So a lotwas unsettled and untried at the first of two groups of sessions that producedthe Elvis Presley album — it wasn\'t even certain that there was any reason fora rock & roll artist to cut an album, because teenagers bought 45s, notLPs. The first of Elvis\' RCA sides yielded one song, "HeartbreakHotel," that seemed a potential single, but which no one thought wouldsell, and a few tracks that would be good enough for an album, if there wereone. But no one involved knew anything for sure about this music. Seventeendays later, "Heartbreak Hotel" was released, and for about a month itdid nothing — then it began to move, and then Elvis appeared on television, andhad a number one pop single. The album Sholeswanted out of Elvis came from two groups of sessions in January and February, augmented by five previously unissued songs from the Sun library. This was asstartling a debut record as any ever made, representing every side of Elvis\'musical influences except gospel — rockabilly, blues, R&B, country, and popwere all here in an explosive and seductive combination. Elvis Presley becamethe first rock & roll album to reach the number one spot on the nationalcharts, and RCA\'s first million dollar-earning pop album.

·CONDITION:

·RECORD

(a)WEGRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG VG++, just a notch below NEAR MINT. A few light abrasions(probably just sleeve scuffs inflicted in storage over the years) ARE VISIBLE,but they appear fairly  insignificantrelative to the overall condition of the vinyl, and are only moderatelyvisually distracting. For most part, the vinyl looks impeccable, without anyMAJOR visual flaws or imperfections. Much of the original luster is intact, andthe vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)The recordhas a "deep groove" (an indent in the label about 1/2-inch from theedge of the label, which on SOME labels is associated with very early or firstpressings).

(c)Monopressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more  preferable to its FAKE ("electronically rechannelled")stereo counterpart. We estimate that FAKE stereo copies of this album outnumbermonos by a ratio of at least 10:1.

(d)The albumcomes with its original, \'rice paper\' inner sleeve (typically used in the 50’sand very early 60’s) which has - apparently with success - shielded the vinylfrom the harmful impact of elements over many years! We believe that, despite greattechnological progress, these early \'rice paper\' inner sleeves provided adegree of protection MUCH HIGHER than any other material used ever since.

(e)TrueStereo copies of this album are NOT known to exist.

(f)Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digitalrecording!!!

·COVER

THE COVER IS ABOUT VERY GOOD+(+)

The following flaws orimperfections are noted on the cover:

-Cover has some visible ring wear;   On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess theseverity of ring wear as 6

-Back cover has circular tarnish (grayish, dust-coveredsections, which closely follow the contour of the record),  probably caused by friction or by rubbingagainst other covers during the storage. The tarnish is similar in appearanceto a common ring wear, but, UNLIKE ring wear, these grayish areas may bepossible to clean up with a minor effort and with a right cleansing solution.

-Cover shows some light yellowing on both sides, apparentlyfrom aging   (nothing significant).

-Back cover has a few yellowish dust speckles scattered hereand there (these tiny spots are not overly obtrusive or distracting)

-Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine   (VISIBLE ON BACK SIDE ONLY)

-Visible shelf wear noted on the seams

-Cover has two corners slightly worn / frayed / bent (just abeginning of the split seam)

-The cover has a few tiny scratch marks on the frontside   (nothing significant)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONSON THE COVER:

-No ring wear

-No cut-out (drill) holes.

-No cut-out corners

-No saw-marks or indents

-No writing

-No stamps

-No peel-off marks

-No mold or mildew spots

-No stickers or labels

-No water damage

-No warping

-No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-No glue traces or wax residue.

-No bar codes

-No RIAA stamps or stickers.
