Enesco LLC, a leading Giftware Company, has been developing & selling top quality products since 1898. The Company was well recognized as an industry leader during the 1970s, 1980s, & 1990s. Musical Jack-in-the-Boxes, such as the one in this sale, were very popular among collectors as they were not made as toys, but as high-end gift items. The original price for these Musical Jack-in-the-Boxes was between $100-$150, depending on the subject matter.

A selected artisan, such as Faith Wick or Karen Hahn, or an art house such as Giordano Art Ltd. or Precious Moments\' Sam Butcher would design the character & box for ENESCO. The Company would outsource the manufacturing, then market & sell the final product.

This timeless & enchanting \"CINDERELLA\" Jack-in-the-Box was designed by Karen Hahn in 1987. She was then an independent artisan who accepted design commissions for ENESCO, and who has now become an artisan who, among other recognizable artisans such as Jim Shore, Lolita, & Glenn & Priscilla Hillman, are represented by ENESCO\'s \"Egift Studios\".

The lovely face of this incredibly captivating beauty is crafted of porcelain & then masterfully hand painted to depict her with fair skin, pink lips, medium-length strawberry-blonde hair with soft bangs, blue eyes. The delicate features of her face are surrounded by cascades of strawberry-blonde hair & topped by a pearl adorned veil. She is lavishly attired in soft celadon green & pink satins with gold satin trim. Her ornately designed hexagonal lacquered wooden box is protected with a satin-finish laminate & is dramatically designed in soft greens, pinks, blues, cream tones on black All six sides of this elaborately designed box depict scenes from the classic story of love conquering evil.

VERY IMPORTANT DETAIL OFTEN MISSED IN THESE COLLECTIBLES: The material covering the \"spring\" that is the body of \"CINDERELLA\" is pristine, as is the velveteen that lines the inside of her box!!

The musical movements of the box - a musical cylinder and a miniature \"comb\" - is in fine working order & plays \"Some Enchanted Evening\".

However, It almost doesn’t matter that this is a music box, as it is simply lovely just to display!

Approximately 11.5” tall with the lid opened, when closed, it is about 6.25\" tall.

• WEIGHT = 2.75 lbs

CONDITION: The porcelain head of \"CINDERELLA\" is truly a beauty, & the lacquered box is in EXCELLENT PRE-OWNED CONDITION FOR A 30-YEAR-OLD MUSIC BOX; HOWEVER, THERE IS SOME CRAZING IN THE LACQUER ON THE LID.

All in all, a beautiful way to introduce a beloved daughter to the value of faith, family, & tradition!
