Out of the Epiphone Custom Shop comes another Limited Edition guitar that you need to get your hands on! Designed in collaboration with Frank Iero, guitarist for multi-platinum band My Chemical Romance, the Wilshire Phant-O-Matic combines an incredible array of features. The result is one of the smartest and most flexible guitars on the market with all the vintage styling that made the Wilshire models a behind-the-scenes favorite of Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Paul Gilbert, and Steve Marriott.
The Wilshire features a double cutaway design with a solid mahogany body. The neck profile and double cutaway make this a perfect guitar for chunking rhythm or cutting leads. The Antique Ivory finish, black single-ply pickguard, and classic form are eye catching to be sure. But what really sets the Wilshire Phant-O-Matic apart from the pack is how it sounds.
My Chemical Romance has sold almost 7 million albums worldwide and they know a thing or two about what makes a great, reliable, and cutting edge instrument. Working closely together over several years of research and development, Frank Iero and Epiphone strove to make an axe that puts the sound of a dozen guitars at your fingertips. The result is what you make it-a straight ahead awesome rock guitar or something completely different and groundbreaking. The Phant-O-Matic employs two classic Epiphone pickups, the famous Alnico Classic Plus humbucker in the bridge and an Alnico Classic humbucker in the neck position. To get the most out of the wide tonal possibilities from this pickup arrangement, a mono VariTone, much like the one used by blues legend B. B. King, has been included.
To finish it off, the Wilshire uses the LockTone Tune-O-Matic StopBar bridge for tuning and intonation accuracy. Machine heads are nickel Wilkinson vintage style tuners with green keys.
As with all the guitars I sell, I played this guitar to test it out. It is a very light weight guitar, weighing 6.5 pounds, but packs a huge punch. If you are looking for a very versitle guitar that will let you do some amazing original sounds, look no further, you have found it. What was refurbished on this guitar?
There are some scratches on the pick guard and a few in the finish at the edge of the pick guard. I have included a picture pointing to 2 of them, but they are too light to show in a picture. Since the scratches were mainly on the pick guard all the refurbisher did was give the guitar a set up. No one will notice the scratches when you are playing.

All of my instruments come from the largest and best refurbisher in the country, where any issue found is corrected by a factory trained and authorized luthier.Does a refurbished instrument have the manufacturer warranty? No, any instrument sent to a refurbisher, regardless of the reason it was sent there, no longer carries the manufacturer warranty.Will I need to set up my instrument when I receive it? All of my instruments have been set-up before shipping, so most are ready to play out of the box.
