This is a beautiful good-sized piece of 19th century silk English mosaic patchwork, made from mini patches in a large star design in shades of yellow, red and duck egg blue. It looks like it was intended for the central panel of a coverlet or quilt that was never finished. It still has its paper templates, and unusually, 19th century printed fabric templates in places too.

It has been entirely hand stitched with really delicate little stitches, it is an fine example of English mosaic patchwork. A super piece for a collection or to display, a wonderful reference for fabrics of the period.

The condition is mostly good, an unfinshed panel with minor wear, nothing serious, and great colour, just a couple of shattered patches.

It measures about 22.5\" by 20\" or 57 cms by 51 cms. Thank you for looking.
