EXQUISITE ANTIQUE FRENCH HANDWORKED LACE LAMP SHADE COVER LINED WITH SILK c1900

This exquisite antique French handworked lace lampshade cover would sit on a shade frame or also would simply sit on an exisiting shade. It dates from the late 1800s and depicts a grape harvest.
Worked by a very accomplished hand in linen threads it is lined with pale pink silk that shows the design at its best.
It is in wonderful condition with no damage or wear and the bottom edge is trimmed with tied linen tassels that give a fabulous flourish finish.
The top border is an array of bunches of grapes and leaves with scrolls and curls.
The main body panels have more grape bunches with vines and there are 4 vignettes.
A man treading grapes in a tub, a woman collecting grapes with a grape hod on her back, a woman standing over a grape hod and a man picking grapes from the vines.
The bottom border is a row of coils all finished with the tassel ends.
