EXQUISITE ANTIQUE FRENCH ORMOLU TIMEPIECE BY R. VACKET PARIS ON WHITE ALABASTER BASE WITH ORMOLU FEET.
THE CLOCK IS HELD IN A CHARIOT WITH A LADY LAYING INSIDE AND BEING PULLED BY TWO SWANS ACROSS WAVES BELOW.
The dial measures just in 2 1/4 inches 5.5 cm\'s in diameter and has individual WHITE ENAMEL NUMERALS.
The ORMOLU figurine measures 9 inches 22.8 cm\'s in length including the tip of the swan and the edge of the chariot.The height to the top of the figurine including the feet is 7 1/2 inches 18.2 cm\'s approximately.The name R. VACKET and PARIS are stamped on the front plate behind the dial.
The back plate has some engine turning and is stamped DEPOSE.
The balanceticks when a keyis placed on the centre arbour to turn the hands and the balance is given a gentle flick, but stops ticking once the pressure is removed from the key.
Themainspring is fully wound.
I BELIEVE THAT THE BALANCE IS OFF BEAT BUT THIS IS A JOB BEYOND ME.
THE ORMOLU IS IN GOOD CONDITION.
