EXQUISITE AUTHENTIC 19TH C AUBUSSON TAPESTRY PILLOW w DOG & SWAN

You are looking at a gorgeous antique Authentic Aubusson tapestry from France (not a Chinese reproduction) turned into a stunning one of a kind pillow. This tapestry although old was never used so it’s in pristine condition. In the foreground there’s a swan in a lake with a dog on shore giving the swan a hard time (although the swan looks like it’s holding its own). In the background you see trees and lots of greenery. This is all in a medallion surrounded by flowers. The background is a peachy salmon color. The Aubusson area alone measures 20” x 20”. I love the colors, you rarely see such vivid colors with this subject matter. This is truly a gem of a tapestry.

Around the Aubusson I used a vintage (NOS) French metallic trim with green cicles. The front of the pillow is done in a soft green cotton velvet. The pillow is finished off with a green and salmon bobble trim. The back is done is a drop dead to die for Scalamandre green and peachy salmon checked velvet (as seen on page 132 of Scalamandre Luxurious Home Interiors by Brian Coleman).

This scrumptuous pillow measures approx. 25” x 25” stuffed with a 30” feather and down insert. There is a hidden zipper closure for your convenience. The entire pillow is lined for extra durability. This pillow was created to last for many more centuries. An heirloom waiting to be passed down. It is in excellent condition and comes from a smoke free home.
