Nice antique Griswold locking mail boxEarly 1900\'s cast iron locking mail box. You can lock this mail box and the post man can drop letters right in the top. There is a circle with 4 holes in it, so you can see if there is any mail with out opening the box up. There are on broken or cracked parts. Mounting holes are good and no cracks in them. If you are using a screw gun to mount this, make sure that you do not tighten it all of the way down. Stop before it gets tight and use a regular screw driver to finish tightening it to your homeThe lid that can be locked is marked Griswold Erie Pa. 106A. The lid that you insert letters in, is marked 105.Neat antique mail box, surface rust with some minor pitting from being in the weather for about 100 years.
