(APPROX. 5\" x 8\")Tobacciana InsertThe smaller Flags were folded and inserted in Tobacco products. The larger were obtained by collecting coupons and sending them to the companies, who returned their larger felts (actually flannel) via U.S. Mail. These were often sewn together by the women of the house to create flannel blankets. While it proved costly to the Tobacco companies, it was worth it to them as the wives were less apt to object to the husbands Tobacco use and purchase. Some of the more rare finds in flannel Tobacco pieces of the time were Indian Chiefs, Butterflies, Baseball players, Indian blankets, small dollhouse rugs and very rarely, animals.
It is in great shape, nice and clean, with no stains or loss of color. Just a Beauty!
